The Story
Until I Die is an animated series aiming to tell the story of many VTubers, content creators, and artists' characters. We strive to create a compelling universe and interesting environment for this story, all while hoping others will share our love for this project.The story itself follows Kerosene, an Identity Demon trying to find a sense of self in a world where everyone around him has greatly influenced his life. This idea is meant to be reflective of the concept of finding difficulty in knowing yourself after a traumatic event.We hope many aspects of the story will provide representation for various struggles people may face in their lives, as well as represent multiple different identities of people within the world.

An Identity Demon trying to find a sense of self all while the world seems to be against him.Retaining memories from previous lives of other people, he struggles to feel independent from their lives as he continues his own, and questions the reason for his existence.

A demon who lives and works as a detective in the human realm. Closed off to most, they seem cold and distant.Around friends, however, they have a very caring and warm personality. They have learned to open up more to others as they find more comfort in those they trust.

Khai Mikata

An exorcist of the church, and the only son of the Mikata family. His father has high expectations of him, but he seems to be quite sentimental towards all life in contrast, even demons.He has doubts about his family's pressure on him, but tries his best to get along. One day, he hopes his father will see his side of things.

An individual of many trades, but is mostly known as the owner of a bar called Spades in the demon city of Tenebris.They struggle to form many emotional attachments or connections, but is still just as lively and excitable as their line of work. They still value their friends over anything else, and would protect them in any case.

A freelance artist and painter, often works for the church and has painted many of their murals. She appears as a nice and approachable friend, but always seems to have something far away on her mind.She's never really made the best choices in friends, and always seems to be digging herself deeper into something much bigger than herself.

A Bird Of Prey Angel, high within their rankings. She's well-respected and feared by many of her peers, as she has a tendency to be a bit more violent than most angels.She speaks with no elegance unless it's for a mask over her true self, only luring in those she aims to use. As a teacher, she isn't the greatest mentor, but she's firm and to the point.

Being a witch who uses the magic of demons, she's long since been estranged from the Mikata family by Khai's father. A caring and laid-back person, she's always excited when Khai comes to visit.After a turn of events and unfortunate arguements with his father, Khai turns to his aunt for guidance as he knows nothing about his family outside of what his father tells him.

A Songbird Angel who is devoted to understanding the world around her. She finds joy in the simple things, and takes great interest in nature.As Birdie's student, she sometimes doubts her teacher's more intense methods, but follows her nonetheless. Unlike most angels, she doesn't have an inherent hatred towards demons, and even wishes to befriend them.

A rare kitsune species, whose population has all died out but two individuals. Also a former member of a nationwide assassins’ guild, now swearing to kill every single one of their members after the truth had been discovered.
His name brings bloodstain and fear amongst those left.A cold personality and aura lurk around his every step, and his past will forever haunt him as he moves forward. Regret is something that does not phase him, as after all, continuing on this path is the only option for him.

Though often misunderstood, she cares greatly for other life and believes everyone is important in their existence.She rarely intervenes in regular occurrences in the world, but has recently taken interest in a certain Identity Demon, who seems to have connections to her deceased sister.

The God of Luck, and the God who previously watched over the world our beloved characters are in. She's fond of many aspects of human life, and enjoys spending time in the world itself.She's always been one to self-sacrifice for the sake of her creations, evident by the fact that she now permanently resides in The Sanctuary after losing the energy to keep herself conscious.

The God of Lies, and very fitting of his role. Everything he does is to add more threads to the inevitably growing Web of Lies.Though, for a God who thrives on secrets, he's dedicated a bit too much of his energy to uncovering the secrets Aphelion keeps in her Sanctuary. Many of his methods could be considered quite heartless and cruel, despite his sweetened personality.

Though she's favored some questionable people, her intentions are always pure.She's a close friend of Aphelion, and one of the 3 Pillars of Humanity. Despite being a god, with a careless mentality and chill vibe, she's rarely recognized as such.

Although he doesn't involve himself very directly in matters, it still finds it enjoyable to watch upon the souls he's favored.Also a close friend to Aphelion, and slightly protective of her, since they've grown up together and become quite close.

The God of Purity, the only being that has a truly pure soul lacking any form of corruption. He tends to hate the idea of conflicts or being forced into difficult situations, but always feels obligated to help wherever he can,They were close with Acatal before she died, never able to truly tell her how close.

KEROSENE
I awoke to the faint sound of voices exchanging greetings.One that sounded like the pleasant sight of an ocean. Sand, life, and sea gave a cool relief when gazed upon. There did, however, seem to be something seeping within the ocean, clouding it with a crimson red.The other sounded like a comfort that was warm and safe. There was a strong sense of reason behind that comfort as if it came from discomfort within. Behind it hid emotions that nobody had the heart to see.When I opened my eyes, I saw one of them standing before me. She had hair of a bright red color and green eyes that looked just like that sea. She seemed happy to see me.Who was this person? I just heard them speaking a moment ago, I could’ve sworn. I knew it was the first time I had seen them, or anything, for that matter.I looked down at my hands to observe myself. Everything seemed so small and light, despite the heavy mind that rested within. I felt like I knew nothing and everything right now, and I struggled as I tried to make sense of what was happening.I went along with everything she said. Minding my manners, trying my best to be polite in her home. She would make me food in the mornings, even if I were never hungry.Countless thoughts still weighed on my mind, and I avoided speaking not to add any more. I spent my days thinking, mostly. I say this as if it were such a long time I stayed with her, but it was only 4 days.On the second day, she had gone out to meet a friend. When she came back only an hour later, she seemed to have a melancholic expression on her face. She hid it well with a smile, but I could still see the almost disappointed feeling underneath it.She smelled like that second voice when she came home. I had my theories, but they were only stray concepts of my mind still thinking, and only thinking. This meeting had marked the time closing in. Soon I’d no longer have the days I used to have for thinking, or the heart.

Seren gave me a book to write in yesterday. I’m not a fan of sharing about my personal life, but she said it could help me express my emotions better. It seemed like she was hinting at the fact that I should talk with people more about them.She’s a curious person, to say the least. I’m very careful about revealing myself to people here, but she always almost looked like she knew what I was. Realistically though, there was no possible way, even if it sometimes looked like she understood.I took the book with me going to work. It was worth trying out when I had free time, at least. Just as I was about to set down the journal and some other papers, I heard a knock on the door of my office.One of the younger officers peeked in the door, almost shaking as they spoke. “I-I’m sorry to bother you just after arriving, but there is a call.” They managed to stutter out the words while avoiding eye contact. I nodded, walking back again to the phone outside the office on the wall.There was a case out in a residential area that seemed to be out of the ordinary, and they wanted my advice on it. I grabbed the journal since I just needed something to write the address down on. Repeating it back to myself as I wrote, I paused to realize whose it was.The person on the other side of the phone must have noticed, asking if everything was okay. “Yes, it’s fine. I’ll be there in 15 minutes.” I replied, closing the book and putting it in my pocket. I hung up the phone, taking a moment to think about the address again.The conversation I had with Seren yesterday was not a casual one. She had asked me to look after her work as an artist after she passed, as she would be dying soon. I figured this meant something along the lines of dying of a terminal illness. Why would she tell me this, knowing I would be the one called to her house?If a case presented itself to be paranormal, I would be the one assigned to it. She had to have known… Well, nothing was certain until I got there myself.
